NSCDC Deploys 3,100 Officers to Protect Lagos During Christmas Festivities

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, has deployed 3,100 officers across the state to safeguard citizens, assets, and critical infrastructure during the Christmas celebrations.

State Commandant, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, said officers are stationed at strategic locations including markets, parks, worship centers, riverside areas, and other key points, as part of the National Protection Policy Strategy.

Keshinro emphasized that the deployment also covers the protection of Very Important Persons (VIPs) and all citizens, aligning with directives from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Officers from various units, including Operations, Intelligence, Anti-Vandal, Marine, Counter-Terrorism, Quick Intervention, and Crisis Management, have been mobilized to ensure a comprehensive security presence.

The Commandant highlighted the Corps’ proactive operational strategy and interagency collaboration to maintain law and order and prevent crimes or vandalism of critical national infrastructure during the festive season.

He urged all personnel to work harmoniously with each other and other security agencies to maximize operational effectiveness.

Keshinro extended festive greetings to Christians celebrating Christmas, wishing Lagosians a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

He encouraged residents, both Nigerians and foreigners, to embrace peace, compassion, and the principles exemplified by Jesus Christ during the holiday season.

He also expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Government, the entire cabinet, strategic security partners, local communities, and the press for their support in achieving operational and administrative excellence throughout the year.

The command remains committed to ensuring a peaceful and safe festive season for all.
