The Lagos State government has received certificates of clearance from the National University Commission, NUC, for the take off of its two new universities
NUC’s Executive Secretary, Prof Abubakar Rasheed handed over the certificates of clearance to
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who was accompanied by his Special Adviser on Education, Mr Tokunbo Wahab at the NUC office in Abuja today.
The NUC boss disclosed that the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB), Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) had been fully notified about the operations of the two universities.
Last week Wednesday, (February 2), Governor Sanwo-Olu had signed the bills establishing the Lagos State University of Education, LASUED and the University of Technology.
With the law , Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin and Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, Epe were transmitted to LASUED, while the State Polytechnic in Ikorodu, Isolo and Surulere campuses jointly became the University of Science and Technology.
