Oba Ogunronbi Backs Women’s Empowerment for Nigeria’s Sustainable National Development

The Nasiru Babatunde Ogunronbi, the Oba of Shasha, has emphasized that empowering women should not be seen as charity but as a strategic investment in the nation’s collective future.

In a message commemorating the 2026 International Women’s Day, the monarch stressed that sustainable national development depends on giving women equal opportunities to thrive and contribute to society.

Oba Ogunronbi noted that providing women with access to quality education, healthcare, economic empowerment, leadership opportunities, justice, and equity would strengthen families, build more prosperous communities, and promote a more inclusive nation.

According to him, the advancement of women remains crucial to Nigeria’s long-term growth, stability, and social progress.

The royal father also joined millions of Nigerians and the global community in celebrating the resilience, achievements, and contributions of women and girls across the country and around the world.
