OJODU LCDA EMPOWERS RESIDENTS IN SKILLS AQUISITION

In a bid to empower the youth and women in Ojodu Council Development area, a two-week intensive training on fabrics/souvenir production, catering and food technology, make-up, Gele, cosmetics production, fish farming, mechanical engineering and electronics has commenced.

The Council Boss, Mr. Olusegun Odunmbaku in a chat with newsmen said this is part of his administration’s commitment to Health, Education, Youth & Women Empowerment and Social Infrastructure, HEYS Agenda in partnership with SPEED-UP LAGOS, an initiative of Lagos State Government, in order to empower the citizens through vocational trainings and skills acquisition.

Mr. Odunmbaku urged residents to utilize the training to gain financial and economic independence amidst teaming challenges in the country.

“We want our people to be empowered for them to also give back to the council area and Lagos state at large, the council have more empowerment programmes in stock as the exercise is not one-off but a continuous one till this administration alleviates the suffering of residents”.

“The participants will be duly certified in their various fields after being tutored by seasoned professionals and instructors”.

In her words the Head of Department, Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs Oluwakemi Adegbenro clamored for more participants amongst the residents concerning the benefit-studded training session.

“The training is a rare opportunity which should be earnestly utilized and as such we would use various means to draw the attention of the citizens to the programme.”
