Fast rising Nigerian born rugby prodigy Fazil Olaniyan left indelible marks on the recently concluded 2023 Junior Rugby Club Singapore League for Under Seventeens.
The 16 year old enterprising player was the star of his team Tanglin Rugby Club in TRC who defeated Dragons RC 20-13 to win the championship.
Fazil’s sterling performance through out the regular season was instrumental in his team’s journey to topping the standings with 18 points after 5 games ahead of SCC and Dragons whom they beat in the final playoff.
As the the main ball carrier for his team off line outs and scrum Fazil continued his incredible play in the final game against Dragons whom they had lost to in the group phase.
The talented high school player Olaniyan deservedly scooped the player of the tournament accolade after leading his teammates to the title win against Dragons.
The 2023 Junior Rugby Club Singapore League held between 17th February to 3rd June.
