Farmers across Nigeria particularly in Lagos and other parts of the South-West, are set to gain easier access to affordable organic fertilisers, a development expected to enhance crop yields and promote healthier food production.
A new integrated facility has been established in Ogunmakin, Ogun State by Waste2Table Limited, to convert organic waste into high-quality fertiliser and protein feed for livestock and aquaculture.
The project employs a combination of aerobic composting, anaerobic digestion, and Black Soldier Fly larvae technology to transform food waste, agricultural residues, and other organic materials into valuable agricultural inputs.
The facility also includes a demonstration farm and training hub designed to equip farmers, students, and other agricultural stakeholders with practical knowledge in organic farming and sustainable waste recycling practices.
Officials said the initiative supports Ogun State’s green economy goals, creates local employment, improves soil health, and reduces environmental pollution.
Collaboration with local communities, government agencies, and other partners ensures the project delivers eco-friendly solutions that strengthen the country’s agricultural and environmental development.
