Over 600 Vulnerable Residents in Lagos get Financial Assistance under Sanwo-Olu Initiatives

Another batch of two hundred and seventy five vulnerable residents in Lagos have received financial assistance under the Sanwo-olu Cares, Sanwo-olu Listen initiative.

This brings to a total of six hundred and twenty seven beneficiaries this year who received between three hundred thousand naira and one point five million naira to alleviate their sufferings

At the cheque presentation at Alausa, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr Tajudeen Afolabi, said the initiative was in fulfillment of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s campaign promises.

“This Sanwo-Olu listens, Sanwo-Olu Cares initiative is ho put smiles on the faces of the vulnerable in Lagos, you don’t need to know anybody to apply, once you have your Lagos State Registration Card and National Identification number, you can apply but you must be residence in Lagos to benefit as our team also do monitoring to ensure the money is used for the purposes with which it was given, if it is medical bills assistance just get reports from government hospitals, once it is verified, we will do the needful, also beneficiaries should endeavor to enroll under the Ilera Eko Health insurance scheme, it is only fifteen thousand naira annually for individual, it will save you from hospital bills payment, so please utilize the resources well.”

Dr Afolabi hinted that the financial assistance varies from house rent, to small scale business upgrade, school fees and medical bills.

He appealed to beneficiaries to make judicious use of the financial aid and desist from frivolous practices to swindle the money, noting that more residents will still benefit all year round.

Some of the beneficiaries who were visibly elated appreciated Governor Sanwo-olu for upholding integrity by fulfilling his electioneering promises to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged in the state.

“We are grateful with this opportunity and the money given will be used on our trading activities”

“I am a makeup artist, I also do mucroblading, with this money given to me I will purchase more equipment to boost my business, I say a very big thank you to Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu, God will continue to bless him and his family”

The beneficiaries who cut across different political, religious and ethnic groups were petty traders, Artisans, the aged, students and people living with disabilities.
