Elder statesman and National Leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, has expressed satisfaction with the performance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that the President has exceeded his expectations in steering the affairs of the country.

Pa Fasoranti made this known during a courtesy visit by the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to his Akure residence in Ondo State. The 98-year-old elder statesman also offered prayers for President Tinubu, commending his commitment to national development and praising the First Lady’s supportive role through her Renewed Hope Initiative.

“This government has done beyond what I expected. I pray for continued strength and wisdom for Mr. President,” Fasoranti said.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu described the visit as informal and a gesture of respect to a revered father figure. Her visit was part of a two-day trip to Ondo State, during which she formally handed over professional kits to midwives in the South West geopolitical zone.

Earlier in the day, the First Lady met with over sixty traditional rulers from the state, led by the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi Ogunlade. The monarchs praised both President Tinubu and the First Lady for their commitment to national progress and pledged their support in promoting healthcare campaigns under the Renewed Hope Initiative, especially in the areas of HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis testing, treatment, and destigmatization.

The Ondo State Traditional Council also declared their support for President Tinubu’s second term.

At a formal event held at the Dome in Akure, Senator Tinubu distributed 10,000 branded scrubs and 10,000 pairs of Crocs to midwives in the South West region, marking the fifth geopolitical zone to benefit from the intervention.

Welcoming the First Lady, Mrs. Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, wife of the Ondo State Governor, praised her as a “true mother” and advocate for women, youth, and children.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa also highlighted the impact of the Tinubu administration in the state, citing the establishment of an Air Force school in Akure and the upgrade of Adeyemi College of Education to a full-fledged university.

In her keynote address, Senator Oluremi Tinubu lauded health workers and encouraged them to take advantage of government retraining programs.

“This event complements the Federal Government’s ongoing retraining exercise for 120,000 frontline health workers,” she noted. “So far, 59,570 health workers have completed their training. In support of their dedication, the Renewed Hope Initiative has procured 60,000 scrubs and 60,000 Crocs as incentives.”

She commended the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Mohammed Ali Pate, and Dr. Muyi Aina, Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, for their contributions to healthcare improvement in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

To further support economic empowerment, Senator Tinubu announced a N50 million grant to 1,000 women petty traders in the state, with 200 fabric sellers also receiving two bales of fabric each to boost their businesses.

The First Lady reiterated the core focus of the Renewed Hope Initiative in areas including agriculture, economic empowerment, education, health, and social investment, reaffirming her commitment to improving the lives of families across Nigeria.
