A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has pledged to consolidate and expand the developmental achievements of Governor Seyi Makinde if elected as governor in 2027.
Ajadi made the promise during a consultative meeting with members of the Oyo State Elected Councillors Forum at the Iseyin City Hall, Iseyin.
Addressing councillors from the 33 local government areas, Ajadi described himself as the embodiment of “Omituntun 3.0-continuity without compromise.”
He said his decision to join the governorship race was driven by a commitment to deepen Makinde’s governance reforms and strengthen grassroots participation in policy-making.
“You are the closest leaders to the people,” he told the gathering.
“Governor Seyi Makinde has done exceptionally well, and Oyo State cannot afford to hand over this progress to the wrong hands.
I represent Omituntun 3.0—the continuity of good governance.”
Ajadi, who hails from Ward 8, Osengere, Egbeda Local Government, and is the son of Ibadan business magnate Chief Bode Amoo, emphasised his respect for party structure and grassroots leadership.
He also led the gathering in observing a minute of silence for deceased members of the party before offering prayers.
Highlighting his private-sector achievements, Ajadi referenced the growth of Bullion Go-Neat Global Limited and its subsidiaries—Bullion Records, Bullion Monie, Bullion Properties, Bullion Automobiles, and Bullion Sports, stating that his track record reflects his capacity for economic management and organisational leadership.
Commending Ajadi’s outreach, Hon. Olasukanmi Olusola, Leader of the House in Egbeda Local Government, noted that he was the first governorship aspirant to formally engage the Councillors Forum.
“Egbeda Local Government is proud to associate with Ambassador Ajadi,” he said.
Councillors across the state also made sector-specific requests.
From Ogbomoso Zone, Hon. Oladeyinde urged for greater support for voter registration.
Hon. Lawrence Olubuse Adepoju of Ibarapa Zone called for improved inner roads and more youth employment initiatives.
In Ibadan, Hon. Salewa Taiwo pledged strong support from women, urging inclusive governance, while Hon. Adeola Sunday appealed for more financial backing for councillors and cautioned against political imposition within the party.
In his closing remark, Hon. Salaudeen Abdulkabir announced that Ajadi had approved financial support for all councillors, including families of deceased members.
He also disclosed Ajadi’s promise to provide five solar streetlights per ward, an assurance the aspirant confirmed immediately.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Hon. Ibitoye Simon urged Ajadi to maintain close ties with Governor Makinde to ensure unity within the PDP ahead of the primaries.
The Oyo State Councillors Forum currently has 351 registered members, with three confirmed deceased.
