Communities in Ikorodu, Lagos State and across Delta State recently witnessed a remarkable wave of humanitarian outreach as renowned healthcare entrepreneur and philanthropist, Dr. Magdalene Agada, led a medical donation drive targeted at underserved populations.
Dr. Agada, the CEO of Dynamic Health Care Medicals—a multinational medical supply company with operations in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Nigeria—delivered essential medications and medical relief to hundreds of residents who had limited access to healthcare services. The initiative was executed through her non-profit platform, Open Hands Amazing Charitable Organisation.
In Ikorodu, scores of families gathered at designated outreach points to receive free medical supplies ranging from antibiotics to chronic illness medication. Volunteers from Open Hands assisted in distribution while offering basic health advice. Similar scenes were replicated in Delta State, where local health centres and community leaders partnered with the organisation to ensure effective distribution.
“This is more than a donation. It is a statement that healthcare should not be a luxury,” Dr. Agada told reporters at the event from her base in the US. “Every life matters, and we are committed to reaching as many people as possible, wherever the need is greatest.”
Community leaders in both states expressed deep appreciation for the intervention, describing it as timely and life-saving, particularly for elderly residents, mothers, and children with little to no access to medication.
The Initiative is part of Open Hands’ ongoing grassroots health intervention programme, which has reached numerous communities across Nigeria. From church-based outreaches to direct home and shelter visits, Dr. Agada’s team has remained consistent in providing support to people in difficult living conditions.
With a growing record of service, Dr. Agada’s dual role as a healthcare leader and humanitarian continues to draw attention. Her ability to bridge professional excellence with compassionate outreach underscores her commitment to people, not just patients.
As Nigeria’s healthcare system faces mounting strain, interventions like this highlight the critical role of private individuals and organisations in bridging systemic gaps. Dr. Agada’s work serves as a compelling model of community-responsive leadership in action.
