Police Academy Deepens Legislative Ties as Commandment Visits National Assembly

The Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, AIG Patrick A. Atayero, has paid a strategic visit to the National Assembly to strengthen institutional collaboration with federal lawmakers.

During the visit, he met with the Chairman of the House Committee on Police Affairs, Hon. Dr. Makki Abubakar Yelleman, presenting him with a commemorative plaque in recognition of his enduring support to the Academy.

AIG Atayero highlighted the Committee Chairman’s role in driving key reforms aimed at enhancing police training and capacity development, noting his recent presence at the Passing Out Parade of Regular Course 7 as further testimony to his commitment.

The engagement also opened discussions on improving infrastructure, upgrading curriculum standards, and boosting funding to align police training with the demands of modern security challenges.

Also in attendance was DCP Etete Bolou, the Nigeria Police Force Liaison Officer to the National Assembly.

Reaffirming the Academy’s dedication to producing disciplined and highly professional officers, AIG Atayero expressed optimism that strengthened legislative partnership would fast-track ongoing reforms and bolster national security.
