Port Harcourt–Aba Train Service Resumes with Discounts, Free Rides

The Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC, says normal rail service on the Port Harcourt–Aba corridor resume today 9th September 2025.

The train resumption followed a successful testing of the Locomotive 2223 and declared fit for operation.

To this end, passengers who previously held tickets for the disrupted service would travel free of charge, while new passengers will enjoy a 50% discount on fares as a gesture of goodwill.

According to the management of the NRC, while regretting the earlier disruption assured the public of its continued commitment to safe, reliable and customer friendly rail services across the country.
