President Tinubu assigns portfolio…Wike gets FCT

President Bola Tinubu has assigned portfolios to the Ministers recently screened by the National Assembly.

Accordingly, Bosun Tuani goes to Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Ishak Salaco, Environment and Ecological Management, as Minister of State, while the Senior Minister is reserved for Kaduna State.

Wale Edun goes to Finance and Co-ordinating Minister of the Economy, Bunmi Tunji, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adedayo Adelabu, Power, Tunisia Alausa, Health and Social Welfare, Dele Alake, Solid Minerals Development, Lola Ade-John, Tourism, while Adegboyega Oyetola, given Transportation.

Doris Anite is Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Uche Nnaji, Innovation Science and Technology, Nkiruka Onyejeocha, Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Uju Kennedy, Women Affairs, while David Umahi is to head Minister of Works.

Festus Keyamo is given Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Abubakar Momoh Youth, Betta Edu, Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State, Gas Resources, and Heineken Lokpobiri, Minister of State, Petroleum Resources.

Sports Development is to be headed by John Enoh, while Nyesom Wike heads the Federal Capital Territory,  Hannatu Musawa, Art, Culture and the Creative Economy, Muhammad Badaru, Defence, and Bello Matawalle serves as Minister of State Defence, Yusuf Sunumu, Minister of State Education, while Housing and Urban Development is to be headed by Ahmed Dangiwa.

Abdullahi Gwarzo, tlis to serve as Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development, Atiku Bagudu, Budget and Economic Planning, Mairiga Mahmud, Minister of State, FCT, Bello Goronyo, Minister of State, Water Resources and Sanitation, Abubakar Kyari, Agriculture and Food Security, Tahir Momoh, Minister of Education, Sa’idu Alkali, Interior, and Yusuf Tuggar is assigned Foreign Affairs.

Ali Pate serves as Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Development, Ibrahim Gaidam, Police Affairs,  Maigari Ahmad, Minsiter of State, Steel Development, Shuaibu Audu, Steel Development, Muhammed Idris, Information and National Orientation, Lateef Fagbemi, Attorney General of Federal and Minister of Justice, Simon Lalong, Labour and Employment, Imman Suleiman Ibrahim, Minister of State, Police Affairs, and Zephianiah Jisalpo, serves as Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs.

Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation will be headed by Joseph Utsev, while Aliyu Sabi Abdullah, serves as Minister of State, Agriculture and Food Security. 

A breakdown of the list shows that Northwest has 5 Ministers and 5 Ministers of State, Southwest has 7 Ministers and 2 Ministers of State, and Northeast gets 6 Ministers and 2 Ministers of State.

It further shows that Northeast has 6 Ministers and 1 Minister of State, South-south has 5 Ministers and 2 Ministers of State, while Southeast is given 4 Ministers and 1 Minister of State.

The Ministers are expected to be sworn in after their orientation.
