Psychologist Recommends Rest and Therapy for Mental Well-Being

A practicing psychologist and Team Lead at the Caleb University Counseling and Development Clinic, Dr. Sanmi Ibidapo, has advised individuals experiencing stress to take a break and speak to a trusted friend, family member, or therapist.

Speaking on the Radio One breakfast show, This Morning, Dr. Ibidapo highlighted common mental stressors in Lagos, including long hours in traffic, financial difficulties, and work-related pressure.

He urged residents to pay closer attention to their mental well-being and encouraged employers to create healthier work environments, by avoiding unrealistic demands, reducing workloads, offering flexible work hours, and ensuring a supportive atmosphere.”

We must all pay good attention to our mental well-being as employers of labour must do all it takes to create a good and friendly working environment devoid of hatred and over burden, to allow workers express themselves in time of difficulties.

Dr. Ibidapo also recommended simple coping strategies such as adequate rest, healthy eating, and relaxation to help manage stress and maintain mental balance.
