Radio One, NBA Boss Shine at GAMA 2025

Radio One 103.5 FM has clinched the Best Humanitarian Radio Station of the Year 2025 at the Global Affairs Magazine Awards (GAMA), earning recognition for its impactful service to humanity and excellence in broadcasting.

The Director of the National Broadcast Academy (NBA) of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Dr. Samuel Anyanwu, was also celebrated with an Award of Excellence for Service to Humanity.

The fourth edition of GAMA, themed “Lighting the Way: Honoring Beacons of Hope,” took place in Victoria Island, Lagos, spotlighting individuals and organisations delivering transformative societal impact.

Renowned Human Rights Lawyer Dr. Tunji Abayomi received a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Dr. Anyanwu commended the organisers for maintaining credibility amid the growing trend of fake award platforms seeking financial gain.

Receiving the award on behalf of Radio One FM, General Manager Mr. Abiola Peters expressed gratitude and dedicated the honour to the station’s founders, leaders, and dedicated staff.

He reaffirmed the station’s commitment to national development in line with FRCN’s motto: Uplifting the People and Uniting the Nation.

In her welcome address, Convener Miss Regina Robinson pledged that the Global Affairs Magazine Awards would remain committed to celebrating excellence, integrity, humanity, and impactful service.

A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of empowerment funds to women entrepreneurs and out-of-school children, further underscoring the event’s humanitarian focus.
