Reinforce trust in the banking system : CIBN President tells ACAMB

Association of Corporate Affairs Managers of Banks, ACAMB, has emphasized the importance of trust in the business of banking and agreed to collaborate with the stakeholders in the industry to reinforce it.

This was made known at ACAMB’s third Annual Stakeholders Conference, on Monday 3 June 2024, in Lagos, with the theme: “Building Bridges: Collaborative Solutions for a Trusted Banking and Financial Services Experience”.

President of ACAMB, Mr Rasheed Bolarinwa, acknowledged the role of the association in reinforcing trust and understanding among people and other stakeholders in the industry.

Highlighting the importance of trust in the industry, Consumer Solutions Strategist and Advisor at KPMG, Mr Wale Abioye, stated that ” trust” is the new currency in the digital world, which is built through transparency, authenticity and integrity “.

The President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria,CIBN, Prof. Olanrewaju Oladeji, on his part, acknowledged the need to promote the culture of trust among bankers and other stakeholders, urging then to ” uphold the culture of trust which is the base of banking in the first place and had unfortunately become the bane in the banking industry in recent times “.
