Safety Babes Consolidate Dominance in 2023 Ardova Premier Handball League

Plateau Peacocks earned the biggest win of Matchday 9 as they defeated Bayelsa Queens yesterday ( 7 July) at the Ardova Handball Premier League 2023 phase 1 in Benin City, Edo State.

Peacocks, the 2018 champion, comfortably tore apart Bayelsa Queens to win 30-15 to maintain their top 4 status in the women’s standings.

Safety Babes continued their dominance of the league as they defeated Delta Force 29-18 while Seasider Babes of Lagos earned a big victory as they defeated Benue Queens 25-16.

Imo Grasshoppers continued to falter as they lost to enterprising Rima Queens side 29-23 just as Defender Babes will remain in the top 3 following their 30-23 win over Bendel Dynamos.

In the men’s category, defending champion Kano Pillars bounced back to winning ways after defeating De Defenders 28-21 while Safety Shooters earned a comfortable 30-20 victory over Police Machine.

Elsewhere Tojemarine Academy lost their lead in the league after losing to Confluence Stars 30-24 while Niger United who now lead the log earned a comfortable 28-21 victory over Bendel Dynamos.

Fans favourites Lagos Seasiders fought hard to defeat Rima Strikers with a 31-30 victory while Benue Buffaloes and Correction Boys, who were the giant killers on day 8 of the league, played out an interesting 28-28 draw.
