Lagos state Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu, has advocated equitable allocation of funds by the World Bank and other international donor organisations to help African Sub-National Governments impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Governor Sanwo-olu made the call when he joined his Ekiti State counterpart, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and other global stakeholders at a high level summit in Abuja, with the theme: Ports to Arms: Africa Responds to COVID-19 – Equity, Delivery and Manufacturing.
The Governor observed that the effect of Covid-19 pandemic is still being felt all over the world, and the negative impact on developing nations remains a huge problem.
He urged the World Bank to include State Governments at the negotiations table during decision making processes, as the world continues to battle Covid-19 and its aftermath.
