Seventeen States Set to Participate in 2025 Olympic Day Celebration

Seventeen states across Nigeria have confirmed their participation in the 2025 Olympic Day celebration, slated for Saturday, June 28, 2025.

The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) disclosed this in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Tony Nezianya.

According to the NOC, this year’s celebration will be officially flagged off in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, by the Committee’s President, Engr. Habu Gumel.

The participating states include Edo, Plateau, Ondo, Taraba, Enugu, Delta, Kwara, FCT, Anambra, Bayelsa, Bauchi, Kogi, Gombe, Osun, Imo, and Lagos — which also serves as the host of the NOC Secretariat.

The Olympic Day celebration will feature a variety of demonstration sports and recreational activities, designed to reflect Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect, while encouraging mass participation in sports across the country.
