The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has thrown its weight behind the anti-drug campaign of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), pledging support to tackle substance abuse across campuses.
NANS President, Sola Oladoja, made the commitment during a visit to NDLEA headquarters in Abuja, where he led student leaders to meet the agency’s Chairman, Mohamed Buba Marwa.
Oladoja commended Marwa’s leadership and intensified crackdown on drug cartels, noting that the agency’s War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign has significantly boosted awareness among students in tertiary institutions.
He also reaffirmed NANS’ support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing policies such as student loans, resolution of academic strikes, and youth empowerment programmes as impactful on young Nigerians.
In response, Marwa highlighted his longstanding relationship with Nigerian students and welcomed the partnership, stressing that collective efforts remain key to curbing drug abuse and safeguarding the future of the nation’s youth.
