Teams Battle for Top-flight Tickets as NNL Promotional Tourney Kicks Off

Four potentially explosive fixtures will kickstart the Nigeria National League NNL Super 8 Promotional Playoffs on Saturday 5 July 2025 in Asaba, Delta State.

In the tournament opener, Barau FC will collide with Yobe Desert Stars, 9am, at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.

Two hours later, Wikki Tourists of Bauchi will square up to the Savannah Tigers, Doma United, while Crown FC of Ogbomosho will confront Kun Khalifat of Owerri at 2pm.Elsewhere, conference winners and hosts Warri Wolves will play Osun United at 5pm to round off the opening day’s proceedings.

According to the group stage draw, Barau FC, Wikki Tourists, Doma United and Yobe Desert Stars will play in Pool A.

Pool B comprises Crown FC, Osun United, Warri Wolves and Kun Khalifat FC.

After a group stage round robin format, top two teams from each pool will qualify for the semi-finals, in addition to tickets to the 2025/26 top-flight.

Games of the post regular season competition are spread across two venues in Delta State – the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba and Austin JJ Okocha Stadium in Ogwashi-Uku.

The second tier promotional playoffs will end on 12 July 2025.
