The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, says the gas leakage near the Computer Village area of Ikeja, has been put under control.

The Public Relations Officer of LASEMA, Mr. Nosa Okunbor, who spoke with Correspondent, Christopher Ekuma, said there was no cause for alarm as the supply to the gas pipeline had been shut down, while emergency responders were on ground.

Mr. Nosa however, called on residents to shun any activity that could ignite naked flame within the area due to the inflammable nature of gas which was already in the air.

“He added that it was actually a gas pipeline leakage, but that the supply to the pipeline has been shut down, assuring residents that the Agency and other relevant emergency responders were on ground to tackle any eventually”

Radio Nigeria reports that the news of the gas leakage filtered into the public space earlier today causing confusion and panic.
