Tinubu Congratulates Ladoja at Coronation as 44th Olubadan

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja on his ascension as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Speaking at the coronation ceremony held at Mapo Hall, President Tinubu expressed gratitude to the people of Ibadan for their support during his political journey.

After receiving the Staff of Office from Governor Seyi Makinde, Oba Ladoja urged President Tinubu to ensure the creation of Ibadan State before 2027.

Governor Makinde described the new monarch’s emergence as a source of pride for Ibadan and Oyo State, praying that his reign brings unity, peace, and development.

Earlier, the Afobaje of Ibadanland, Chief Waheed Popoola, performed traditional rites by placing Akoko leaves on the monarch’s head at the Labosinde Compound, Oja’ba, before the procession to Mapo Hall.

Oba Ladoja succeeds Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the 43rd Olubadan, who died on July 7, 2025.

The ceremony was attended by political leaders and traditional rulers, including the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III.
