Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu, Alia Hail Methodist Prelate Ali Aba for Role in Nation-Building

President Bola Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia have lauded the Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Dr. Oliver Ali Aba, for his exemplary spiritual leadership and unwavering contributions to national development.

The commendations came during a special thanksgiving service held in Lagos on Tuesday to mark the 65th birthday of the esteemed cleric.

President Tinubu, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, described Dr. Aba as a consistent voice of righteousness, equity, and peace whose influence extends well beyond the pulpit.

“Through the years, your voice has not only echoed from the pulpit but also resonated within the corridors of society as a beacon of moral guidance,” Akume stated. “Your engagement in education, healthcare, and community development underscores your holistic approach to ministry and your deep concern for the welfare of Nigerians.”

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, praised the prelate’s commitment to promoting love, selflessness, and accountability.

“Dr. Aba’s dedication to moral values, his advocacy against corruption, and his emphasis on compassion and integrity provide a blueprint for ethical leadership in our society,” she said.

In a similar vein, Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, represented by his Deputy, Dr Sam Ode, applauded the prelate’s selfless service to humanity and his exemplary lifestyle. Ode also called on Nigerians to stay united and hopeful for a better future.

“We must remain hopeful and united. Only in an atmosphere of peace and unity can development and prosperity thrive,” he noted.

Presidential aspirant under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewale Adebayo, who chaired the occasion, described Dr. Aba as a man of integrity whose lifestyle and teachings have continued to impact society positively.

Also present at the celebration were former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, and former Governor of Taraba State, Rev. Jolly Nyame.

All the dignitaries in attendance hailed Prelate Ali Aba as a moral compass and a transformative leader whose contributions remain instrumental to the growth and progress of the nation.
