The Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Primary Health Centre in the Ikosi-Isheri area of Lagos.
This new facility features 105 beds and is equipped with over twenty-five specialized units, advanced medical equipment, dedicated family health units, and a fully functional care and emergency response system.
The Primary Health Centre was constructed by Princess Samiat Abolanle-Bada, the Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, to provide healthcare services directly to the community.
The health facility has been named in honour of Senator Oluremi Tinubu, recognizing her advocacy for women’s health, national development, and her significant contributions to grassroots healthcare delivery.
During the ceremony, Senator Oluremi Tinubu who was represented by the Wife of the Vice President commended Princess Abolanle-Bada for her impactful leadership and commitment to the welfare of women, children, and communities.
Senator Tinubu emphasized the importance of the health centre, stating that it will deliver quality healthcare for mothers, children, the elderly, and vulnerable members of society. She expressed her gratitude to the Chairman and the entire Ikosi-Isheri LCDA for establishing the centre and thanked them for naming it in her honor, urging stakeholders to take ownership of the facility.
In his address, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State also attended the inauguration and expressed his pleasure at being part of the event.
He mentioned it was his third visit to Ikosi-Isheri and noted the progress made under Princess Bada’s leadership, acknowledging the hard work of the community’s market vendors, youth association, and other stakeholders, stating that their dedication had made a significant impact and that the community has every reason to be proud of the development.
The Governor highlighted that the inauguration of the health centre exemplifies the positive changes occurring at the grassroots level in Lagos State, pointing out that the federal, state, and local governments are collaborating effectively to enhance the lives of the people.
He expressed pride in the developments in Lagos State and their positive effects on the community, emphasizing that this progress is not solely about infrastructure but also about improving the lives of citizens, particularly the underserved and vulnerable populations.
Earlier in her speech, Princess Samiat Abolanle-Bada acknowledged Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s presence at the event, describing the health centre as a legacy of compassion, competence, and capacity. She credited Senator Tinubu with influencing her leadership journey.
The healthcare centre includes various specialized units, such as a Mini Theatre, Radiology Room, ICU, and Laboratory, all equipped with cutting-edge tools like laser surgery instruments, digital monitors, and auto-chemistry analyzers.
The facility also features a fully air-conditioned multipurpose hall for outreach and staff development, operating 24/7 with reliable power supply.
Princess Bada reiterated the administration’s commitment to empowerment and development, highlighting the implementation of the Youth Empowerment and Skill Acquisition Scheme, which has benefited thousands of residents. She noted that this initiative reflects Senator Tinubu’s legacy and the administration’s dedication to replicating her successful model.
The former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Mr. Suraj Adekunbi described the project as a legacy initiative that will provide quality healthcare to the grassroots, urging the residents of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA to take ownership of the project to ensure its protection and maintenance, allowing them to enjoy its benefits for years to come.
