VP, SGF, Jonathan, Gowon, Governors, Others Attend Chief Shonekan’s Funeral Service

The Funeral Service in honour of Late Interim Head of State, Chief Ernest Shonekan at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina , Lagos is what could be described as a parade of ” the who is who” in the nation’s political landscape, as it is being attended by top Federal and States Government functioneries,both serving and out of service.

Among the top dignitaries who had gone to partake in the ” Lying in state” rite of the late Shonekan at his residence in Ikoyi before coming for the funeral service are ,the Secretary of the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha; Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo; Former Presidents Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Former Military Head of state, Chief Yakubu Gowon; Governors of Lagos, Ogun and Edo with their wives, Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Mr. Olamilekan Adegbite and others.

Their seats have been reserved,with tags bearing their names.

Meanwhile , attendees are coming in trickles into the Church that is wearing a topnotch decoration and amids Cool and melodiums songs.

In and outside the church, there is maximum security architecture in place. Also, high degree of social distancing is being observed.

The funeral service is slated for 11 am , shortly after lying in state.
