Former Lagos State governorship candidate under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has credited Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s calm leadership and maturity for his defeat in the 2023 election.
Jandor, who recently returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after defecting to the PDP ahead of the last gubernatorial polls, made this known during a courtesy visit to Governor Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos House, Ikeja, on Tuesday.
Speaking to State House correspondents after a closed-door meeting with the Governor, Jandor said he had come to officially present himself and members of his political group to the APC leadership in the state.
He commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for remaining composed despite the intense campaign rhetoric and personal attacks during the election season.
“The Governor maintained his calm and stayed focused on governance, and I must commend him for that. Leadership is about maturity and composure, even in the face of provocation,” he said.
Jandor also pledged to support the APC in the forthcoming local government elections and work towards the party’s success in the 2027 general elections.
His return to the APC In March marks a significant political realignment ahead of future contests in Lagos politics.
