Women’s Must Have Access To Equal Opportunities, says Epe Council Chair

Chairman of Epe Local Government Area, Princess Surah Animashaun has said that the authorities would to recognize that women’s rights are human rights, and pledge to continue working tirelessly to ensure that all women and girls in Epe community have access to equal opportunities, resources, and services.

Princess Animashaun made the pledge on the occasion of the International Women’s Day.

She said everyone will continue to celebrate the women who have broken barriers, challenged stereotypes, and achieved greatness in various fields.

“We also recognize the unsung heroes – the women who work tirelessly behind the scenes, caring for their families, supporting their communities, and contributing to the development of our society.”

According to Princess Animashaun, this year’s theme, “All Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment”, resonates deeply with her administration’s commitment to promoting gender equality, empowering women, and creating an inclusive society.

“Our administration remains committed to creating an enabling environment that fosters women’s empowerment and advancement,” she stated.

The council chairman noted that the council had implemented various initiatives aimed at promoting women’s economic independence, improving access to education and healthcare, and enhancing their participation in politics and decision-making.

She reminded the womenfolk that they deserve equal rights, opportunities, and respect promising to continue to work tirelessly to ensure that they receive them.

“Your voices, perspectives, and contributions are invaluable, and I encourage you to keep pushing boundaries, challenging stereotypes, and striving for excellence.”

She stated, “To all the women and girls in Epe Local Government, I say to you: you are the backbone of our society, and I urge you to continue being the change-makers, innovators, and leaders that our community needs. As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we honor the trailblazers who have paved the way for future generations.”

She told women not to forget that the day serves as a reminder of your strength, resilience and unwavering commitment towards creating a better world for all.

Princess Animashaun further explained that she was delighted to join the global community in celebrating International Women’s Day to commemorate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and girls around the world.
