National Youth Corps members undergoing their Orientation course in Lagos have been asked to align with the training modules of the course to enable them to develop the right attitude and mental discipline they require to excel.
The Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Lagos State, Mrs. Christiana Salmwang gave the advice at the Swearing- in of the 2025 Batch “C” National Youth Corps Members deployed to Lagos state, held at the NYSC Orientation camp, Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos.
Mrs. Salmwang said that the National Service was designed to put Corps members on a path that produces influencers, high achievers, professionals and Patriots with an unwavering belief in a great and united Nigeria.
She emphasized that National Youth Service Corps had evolved into a globally recognized platform for practical and empirical learning, adequately preparing Youths for real-world challenges.
Mrs. Salmwang however, advised the Corps members that apart from giving absolute attention to every training they would be exposed to in the next three weeks of the orientation course, they should not loose sight of Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme packaged for them to acquire skills that would make them job creators.
In a message to the event, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu urged the Corps members to emulate their predecessors who had contributed immensely to the socio economic development of the state over the years by being positive change agents in their primary places of assignments after the orientation course.
Represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende, Governor Sanwo-Olu advised the Corps members to take advantage of every good opportunity that comes their way with the aim of becoming a better individual.
Governor Sanwo-Olu assured them that the government would continue to ensure the safety of Corps members in the state.
Justice Rosul Adewale later administered the Oath of Allegiance on the two thousand, four hundred and twenty-seven Corps members at the orientation ground on behalf of the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Kazeem Alogba.
