Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to using the National Social Register (NSR) as a reliable tool to reach vulnerable households across the state.
Speaking at a one-day stakeholders’ engagement in Lagos, the Governor represented by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Sam Egube commended President Bola Tinubu for repositioning the register as a credible platform for delivering social interventions nationwide.
Sanwo-Olu explained that Lagos has domesticated the NSR under the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective targeting of residents in need.
On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), Dr. Badamasi Lawal, described the register as the cornerstone of social protection in Nigeria.
He emphasized that collaboration among federal, state, and local stakeholders is crucial to guarantee that no Nigerian is left behind in accessing social benefits.
