The Lagos State Police Command has cautioned individuals and groups against staging unlawful protests or gatherings that could disrupt public peace or obstruct key infrastructure.Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, gave the warning while monitoring security operations around Iyana-Oworo on the Third Mainland Bridge.
He said tactical and conventional police teams had been deployed to major flashpoints across Lagos to ensure law and order.CP Jimoh noted that while citizens have the right to peaceful protest, such actions must not endanger lives, disrupt traffic, or block critical routes such as the Third Mainland Bridge.
He warned that the police would deal decisively with anyone attempting to instigate violence or chaos under the guise of activism.
On the ongoing Oworonshoki demolition, the Commissioner explained that officers were providing lawful security support to government officials and that several raids had resulted in the arrest of suspected criminals.
The police boss reassured residents that Lagos remains peaceful and safe, urging them to go about their lawful activities as the Command continues to protect lives, property, and citizens’ rights.
