Keyamo Invites Global Investors to Harness Opportunities in Nigeria’s Aviation Sector

The minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has called on international investors to take advantage of the country’s favourable investment climate and ongoing sectoral reforms.

Speaking through the Director General, Civil Aviation, Captain Chris Najomo, at the Nigeria-Belgium-Luxembourg Business Forum in Belgium, Mr. Keyamo reaffirmed the government’s commitment to bold reforms, inclusive development, and regional integration.

In a statement, the minister said Nigeria’s adoption of the Cape Town Convention and the Irrevocable Deregistration and Export Request Authorization (IDERA) had reduced investment risks and protected financiers’ rights — paving the way for new financing opportunities and fleet expansion.

“These measures have strengthened confidence in the aviation sector and positioned Nigeria as a prime destination for global investment,” he said.

Mr. Keyamo identified key growth areas, including airport expansion, maintenance and repair facilities, and cargo logistics optimization. He also urged investors to support green aviation projects, such as solar-powered airports, carbon-neutral infrastructure, and fleet modernization through innovative financing partnerships.

The forum, held from October 22 to 24, 2025, was themed “Solidifying Viable Partnerships for Economic Growth and Sustainability.”
