An adult female occupant of the two-storey building at No 54 Cole Street, Cemetery Bus Stop, that collapsed in the Oyingbo area of Lagos State has been confirmed dead, while twenty-six others (20 males, 4 females, 2 boys) were rescued under the rubble by the combined efforts of the Emergency Management Team.
This was confirmed in a statement by the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, which was made available to newsmen in Lagos.
According to Dr Oke-Osanyintolu, the rescued occupants, who sustained varying degrees of injury, were treated by LASEMA and LASAMBUS before being taken to General Hospital, Lagos Island and FMC Ebute-Metta.

Dr Oke-Osanyintolu noted that that rescue operations are ongoing, with the team of LASEMA, LASG Fire Service, LNSC, LASAMBUS, Nigeria Police who are working tirelessly to ensure no one remains trapped under the rubble.
