NCAA Leadership Reaffirms Open-Door Policy, Issues New Directives on Staff Conduct

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has kicked off 2026 with a mix of prayers and a firm demand for discipline.

This is just as the Director General, Civil Aviation, Captain Chris Najomo, called for punctuality, professionalism and renewed commitment at the Authority’s New Year Prayer Session in Abuja.

Captain Najomo stressed that prayers must be matched with hard work, warning that lateness, poor work ethics and low participation in sponsored trainings would no longer be tolerated.

He described continuous learning as essential to building a world-class aviation regulator, praised the professionalism of security personnel, and cautioned against gossip and internal sabotage, urging staff to channel ideas constructively through management.

Reaffirming his open-door policy, the DGCA said all directorates would be held accountable for lapses, insisting that unity, respect for hierarchy and strong work ethics are critical to achieving results in 2026.

In goodwill messages, directors and union leaders commended the DGCA’s leadership, citing improved unity, innovation and efficiency across the Authority.

They also welcomed the approval of a new Conditions of Service, CoS, describing it as a boost to staff morale, and pledged continued support for reforms aimed at strengthening safety, efficiency and public confidence in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
