AON Commends Tinubu’s Business Policies, Welcomes Levy Suspension
The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has applauded the Federal Government’s suspension of the 4 percent Free on Board (FOB) levy on imports, describing the move as a major relief for the aviation sector.
In a statement, the body commended President Bola Tinubu for demonstrating commitment to building a business-friendly environment and protecting critical sectors of the economy.
It warned that the levy, if enforced, would have driven up operating costs and further burdened an industry already grappling with multiple economic challenges.
AON also praised the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, for what it called exemplary and responsive leadership, noting that his decision to heed industry concerns reflects patriotism, fairness, and alignment with the President’s vision for sustainable growth.
The operators stressed that the suspension of the levy will help safeguard aviation, protect jobs, ease inflationary pressures, and keep Nigeria competitive in the global market.
They reaffirmed their commitment to working with government to strengthen the industry and contribute to national development.
