Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar on Monday formally registered as a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in his hometown, Jada, Adamawa State.
Atiku received his membership card at Ward 1, where a massive crowd of supporters welcomed him. He was accompanied by a high-powered delegation, including former Adamawa State Governor Bindow Umaru Jibrilla, Senators Aishatu Dahiru Binani and Ishiaku Abbo, as well as other political stakeholders.
Addressing the crowd, Atiku urged Nigerians to join the ADC and help build what he described as a “formidable force” for the 2027 general elections. He vowed that the party would challenge and defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that “the time for change has come.”
His defection strengthens the ADC’s profile as it positions itself as a major opposition platform ahead of the 2027 polls.
