Badagry Chairman Highlights Key Achievements at 100 days

The people of Badagry Local Government have been assured of extensive infrastructural development as the council marks its first 100 days in office.

Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Mr. Babatunde Hunpe, gave the assurance during a press conference held to commemorate the milestone.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing 40 roads before the end of his first term.

Mr. Hunpe highlighted several projects already delivered within the first 100 days, including the completion of three strategic community link roads, as well as the construction of three blocks of classrooms furnished with modern learning facilities, offices, and upgraded toilet systems.

He added that efforts are underway to strengthen Badagry’s position as Nigeria’s foremost historical tourism destination.

As part of the 100-day achievements, the chairman announced the launch of a ₦400 million empowerment scheme known as the “Asiwaju Conditional Cash Transfer,” aimed at supporting 4,000 families with ₦100,000 each.

He also disclosed that the Pota Primary Health Centre has been fully reconstructed.

On traditional institutions, Mr. Hunpe stated that his administration has reviewed the imprest of Aholus, ensuring they receive timely support for matters affecting their communities.

Reports has it that the administration also plans to acquire five brand-new waste mobile carriers and provide equipment for all local security chiefs, popularly called Zangans, to strengthen grassroots security in the local government.
