Christ Victory Baptist Church Lagos Celebrates 70th Anniversary, Urges Nigerians To Return To God.

It was a moment of sober reflection, celebrating God’s great works, soul winning, life’s transformation as well as homes redemption for members of the Christ Victory Baptist church as they expressed gratitude to God Almighty for sustainance of the Church for the past seventy years.

The Church which transformed from Somolu Baptist church to today’s Christ Victory Baptist church, was described as having embarked on a very long journey and has served as an unequaled and a peerless training ground to thousands of people who had passed through her.

This, the members say, is evident in the fact that, people who left the church and even those who were not active in the Church activities, when they relocated elsewhere, become leaders and holders of high positions wherever they go to.

The Pastor of the Church, the Reverend Dr Israel Abolade in a chat with Radio Nigeria, expressed gratitude to God Almighty for having taken the Church through these long years and pledged to vigorously delve into evangelism and Mission, to launch the the Church into yet another level, in the days to come.

The Cleric charged Nigeria and the citizens, to embrace God and turn away from evil, for any nation which turns away from God, has always suffered from it.

In his message, entitled ” A call to partner God” and taken from Luke 5:1- 10, the Guest Speaker, the Reverend Joseph Awoshoro, said it was not enough to hear that the church has existed for seventy years but noted that it still need some people to reach out to.

He tasked the leadership of the church to deploy all social media platforms at its disposal to reach out to the people while also using the conventional media like Radio and Television stations to make its presence felt across the country.

As part of the celebrations, a drama piece entitled “From glory to glory” was presented, a brief history of the Church’s transformation was also presented while the list of Awardees who offered meritorius services to the Church over the years, was presented, with two of them, honoured posthumously.

The atmosphere of the event was charged with electfying gospel songs and dances, to the glory of the Almighty God, for a successful seventy years earthly existence of Christ Victory Baptist church, Somolu, Lagos.
