The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has urged troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to remain resolute, uphold the core values of the Nigerian Army, and sustain their commitment to restoring peace and security across the North-West.
Lieutenant General Shaibu gave the charge during his maiden operational visit to the operation’s Area of Responsibility in Gusau, Zamfara State.
He commended the troops’ resilience and sacrifices in facing daunting security challenges, assuring them that the Army hierarchy is committed to addressing all operational and welfare concerns.

Highlighting reports from the Theatre Commander, General Shaibu noted that challenges faced by the front-line troops, as well as the air and naval components, are being addressed with urgency.
He encouraged personnel to continue conducting themselves professionally, emphasizing that their efforts have enabled citizens in affected communities to resume normal daily activities.

The COAS also praised the synergy among the services in ongoing operations and assured troops that military leadership remains committed to improving their working conditions and operational effectiveness.
