Compliance Enforcement: NCAA Targets Private Jet Owners Engaging in Commercial Activities

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has once again issued a stern warning to Permit for Non-Commercial Flight (PNCF) holders, commonly known as private jet owners, against participating in commercial flight operations.

In a statement released by Mr. Micheal Achimugu, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, NCAA, PNCF holders are reminded that their aircraft are strictly prohibited from carrying passengers, cargo, or mail for hire or reward, which constitutes commercial operations or charter services.

According to the statement, as outlined in Section 32 (4) of the Civil Aviation Act 2022, the NCAA will take decisive enforcement actions against any PNCF holder found engaging in illegal operations, including suspension, withdrawal, or revocation of their Permit for Non-Commercial flight.

The public is reminded that it is unlawful to utilize PNCF holders for commercial purposes.

To ensure compliance, the NCAA says, it officials have been deployed to General Aviation Terminals (GAT) and private wings of airports to monitor the activities of PNCF holders.

Furthermore, the NCAA emphasizes its zero-tolerance policy towards violations of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2023 and pledges to enforce strict compliance by applying appropriate sanctions.
