15 players have hit the camp of Nigeria’s Super Eagles ahead of this Saturday’s 6 September 2025 World Cup Qualifying match against Amavubi of Rwanda.
All the players are expected to observe their first training session later in the evening at from 6pm in Uyo preparatory to the match slated for the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
Latest arrivals in the Eagles’ nest include Turkey based midfielder Wilfred Ndidi and Premier League player Frank Onyeka.
Early birds include Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Ola AinaBright Osayi-Samuel, Moses Simon among others.
After the game against Rwanda on Saturday, Nigeria will confront South Africa, three days later, needing victories in both games to brighter their chances of qualifying for the global event.
The Eagles are ranked 4th in the standings behind third placed Cheetahs of Benin Republic, 2nd positioned Rwanda and table toppers Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
Winners of various groups in the African zone qualifying will secure automatic tickets to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
