FG Appoints Two Deputy Corps Marshals For Key Zones

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, CON, has approved the appointment of two Assistant Corps Marshals as Deputy Corps Marshals for the South East and North East geopolitical zones.

The appointments are part of a strategic move to strengthen leadership capacity, enhance operational effectiveness, and consolidate road safety management across the country.

Those appointed are DCM Hyginus Omeje, currently the head of the Operations Department, and DCM Mark Sabiya, who oversees the Department of Finance and Accounts at the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) National Headquarters.

According to the SGF, the decision was guided by the need to deploy experienced, disciplined, and performance-driven officers to strategic command positions in order to strengthen national road safety administration and improve service delivery to Nigerians.

Reacting to the development, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps described the appointments as a timely and well-considered intervention that reinforces the Corps’ leadership structure at a critical phase of Nigeria’s road safety journey.

He noted that both officers have distinguished themselves through decades of exemplary service, operational excellence, and unwavering commitment to the ideals of the Corps.

He added that their elevation would significantly enhance command efficiency, stakeholder engagement, and the execution of targeted road safety interventions nationwide.

The Corps Marshal further charged the newly appointed Deputy Corps Marshals to deploy their wealth of experience in addressing traffic management and road safety challenges across their respective zones.
