One hundred and seventy-six thousand Nigerians visited Ghana in 2025, making Nigeria the country’s second-largest source of international visitors.
Ghana’s Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mr. Yusif Jajah, disclosed this while hosting the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies, NANTA, during an executive dinner in Ghana.
Quoting the country’s 2025 Tourism Report, Jajah said Ghana welcomed more than 1.3 million international arrivals, with over 176,000 visitors coming from Nigeria.
He described Nigeria as one of Ghana’s most important tourism markets, saying, “Our big brother Nigeria remains one of Ghana’s most important tourism markets,” and added that the figures reflect the strong people-to-people ties between both countries.
NANTA President, Mr. Yinka Folami, who noted that the association has over 4,000 members and recently marked its 50th anniversary, called for stronger tourism collaboration, saying, “Every journey between Ghana and Nigeria will strengthen Pan-Africanism.”
Founder of Safari World, Mr. Samuel Afari, described the visit as the fulfilment of a 15-year vision to build stronger partnerships with the Nigerian travel market, while NANTA expressed optimism that the familiarisation tour would lead to new tour packages and increased travel between both countries.
