Greater Lagos Fiesta Returns.

The Lagos State government has announced its annual end of the year event tagged “Greater Lagos Fiesta”

The fiesta which is an annual event did not hold in the last two years due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Aimed at engaging and entertaining residents as the year winds down, the fiesta will be held between the 29th of this month into the wee hours of January one, 2023, ushering in the new year.

Addressing newsmen in Alausa, Ikeja, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Art and Culture, Mr Femi Martins, explained that the fiesta would further open up economic opportunities for MSME’s operators while adequate security arrangements have been put in place for all attendees.

“The event will not only have impact on young and talented artistes but at the same time, improve the economy of the State through MSMEs’ booming activities. Let me assure all Lagosians that the event will be well-loaded featuring live music, concerts, comedy and cultural displays. One of the considerations before Mr Governor approved the Lagos Greater Fiesta was the issue of security. The security situation was critically assessed. He stated.

While fielding questions from newsmen on the name of the different names the fiesta has been called by successive governments in the State, the Special Adviser said a bill would be sponsored at the House of Assembly to retain the Greater Lagos identity for the fiesta.

About two million residents are expected at the fiesta which will take place simultaneously in Ikorodu, Epe, Agege, Badagry and Eko Atlantic.
