Health: Air Traffic Engineers, NAMA Emphasize Regular Medical Checks

The National Association of Air Traffic Engineers, NAAE, Lagos branch has organized a health symposium to sensitize the aviation industry workforce on the need for regular health check up.

The Chairman, NAAE, Lagos branch, Mr. Oshinowo Ayodele said, the sensitization became necessary following recent deaths of some staff in the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency, NAMA.

According to him, many have lost their lives due to medical conditions that would have been effectively managed if  detected early with regular medical check up.

He stated that, the health exercise was to encourage the NAMA staff to take their health serious and make it the number one thing in their daily life.

The National President of the National Association of Air traffic Engineers (NAAE), Mr. Ishaya Dung charged engineers in NAMA to take health issues more seriously to remain productive in the system.

While urging the engineers to embark on compulsory medical check up in order to ascertain the state of their health, commended the initiative of the NAAE Lagos chapter for organizing the program.

The special guest at the event and special adviser on Primary Health,  Igbogbo Bayeku Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Mr. Olayinka Ogunlaja urged aviation workers and the general public to make themselves available for free medical checks done in most hospitals, pharmacies and by non-governmental organizations among others.

He emphasized that, it is only the living that can enjoy life.

The theme of the symposium is: A Healthy 21st century Air Safety Electronics Personnel, ASEPs.
