Ibeju Lekki Cricket Club 1 narrowly pipped rivals Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association Cricket Club by one point to win, for the 3rd time on the bounce, the 2022/2023 Honorable Gbolahan Olusegun Yishawu Club Cricket Committee League in Lagos.
The Division 1 competition which began in October, 2022 saw nine teams play a total of 74 games.

Speaking at the closing ceremony at TBS Cricket oval in Lagos the sponsor of the league Honorable (Engr.) Gbolahan Olusegun Yishawu, representing Eti-Osa 11 constituency on the Lagos State House of Assembly commended the organizers for putting up a spectacular show in over 7 months.
He however promised to support the sponsorship of the league for another one year.
The final game of the season played yesterday at the Oval saw Island Titans beat Foundation Cricket League by 6 wickets.
Despite the loss Foundation finished 3rd in the standings with 19pts, Titans placed 6th with 13pts while the champions Ibeju Lekki topped the table with 26pts after winning 15 games.
The Technical Adviser for this year’s CCCL Endurance Ofem said players’ welfare was paramount in the organisation of the championship:
“You can see for yourself that today alone we’ve almost given out cash prizes about a million naira
“From the players of the man of the matches award to the player of the tournament who walked away with N250,000 and the Division player that walked away with a N100,000 naira.

“So we hope to continue to improve this league as far as we can run in better ways to attract sponsorship.”
Danladi Isaac of FCC emerged the MVP of the season and received N250,000 for his efforts while Pradeep Chaudhary of United Cricket Club won the best player of the season in division 2.
There were awards for players of the various months in the season, batting, bowling, wicket keeping and fielding departments of the game.
