JOF Under 13 Football Competition Unveils Tantalising Rewards for Finalists

Finalists in this year’s JOF Under 13 soccer championship for boys are in for an improved financial reward in Lagos.

Winners of the competition which is organised under the auspices of the Lagos State Grassroots Soccer Association will pocket N500,000, runners up N400,000, 3rd placed side will receive N300,000 while the 4th ranked team will get N200,000.

Announcing the financial packages yesterday at a media briefing in Lagos, a representative of the sponsors Mr Adeyinka Adetunji expressed the desire to make the competition a household name in grassroots football development in Lagos:

“Starting from next year we would like it bigger, we would like it better covered.

“We would like to promote it to a point where the entire Lagos will see as a tournament for the state.”

The vastly improved prize money may have been one of the high points of the occasion, however, Mr Adetunji promised that outstanding individuals would not be left out of the reward system:

“In addition to the improved prize monies for the team,.we will also reward some individual players who distinguished themselves during the tournament.

The JOF Under 13 Soccer tournament kicked off on 4 March 2023 with 32 clubs divided into 8 groups of 4 teams each.

“We encourage all to let the spirit of fair play guide all the participants in the forthcoming final matches,” Adetunji said.

Zamadek will face Wazpac in the 3rd/4th place playoff at 1pm while Ojo Babes and Kudus Babes will contest the final game at 3pm.

The final and bronze medal matches will take place on 11 June 2023 at the Campos Mini Stadium on Lagos Island.
