NPFL Super 6 Playoffs Draw Kicks Up Mouthwatering Ties

Rivers United of Portharcourt will start defence of their NPFL title tomorrow when the top-flight’s Super 6 playoffs get underway in Lagos.

At the draw ceremony, today in Lagos, the League organisers The Interim Management Committee IMC paired the reigning kings with Sunshine Stars for the second match of tomorrow scheduled for 4pm.

Enyimba International vs Remo Stars will kick off the championship at 2pm while the 3rd game of the day will see unbeaten Bendel Insurance square up to Lobi Stars.

The six teams are expected to treat football fans to a spectacle especially as N100 million in prize money have been earmarked for the winners.

Champions and 2nd placed team will represent Nigeria in the continent’s top-flight club competition, the CAF Champions League, while the 2nd placed side will campaign in the Confederation Cup.

All round robin games of the Super 6 Playoffs which end on June 11 will take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.

Meanwhile IMC has announced a new name and logo for the Nigerian top-flight.

The top-flight will now be called the Nigeria Premier League.

The new name and logo were unveiled during the draw ceremony for the 2022-23 NPL Super Six playoff.
