A three-storey building under construction has collapsed in the Ebute Metta area of Lagos, leaving construction workers trapped beneath the rubble.
The incident occurred along Borno Way, where the structure suddenly gave way during work.
Emergency responders managed to rescue two workers, who were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
In a separate incident, a gas leakage was reported along Acme Road in the Ikeja axis, causing widespread panic among residents and motorists.
The twin emergencies led to chaos as people fled for safety and vehicles scrambled to escape the affected areas.
Confirming the incidents, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the causes were yet to be determined, adding that investigations were ongoing.
He urged members of the public to remain calm, observe safety measures, and comply with official advisories to avoid further risks.
