Lagos: JAMB Examination kicks off behind schedule due to heavy downpour

The early downpour experienced in most parts of Lagos today posed little challenge to the early commencement of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination in some Computer Based Test , CBT, centres visited in Alimosho Local Government Area of the state.

Correspondent Kikelomo Ifekoya who visited some Joint Admissions And Matriculation Board, accredited CBT centres in Egbeda, Ijegun, Igando and Command area in Ipaja reports that those that were scheduled to sit the examination at 7am at the centres started behind schedule.

For example, candidates that were supposed to sit the examination at 7am in Command Secondary School, Ipaja and Memkad CBT centre in Ijegun did not start the examination until about 9am.

Some of the officials of the CBT centres who spoke to Radio Nigeria under anonymity said the examinaton started behind schedule due to the heavy rain which affected their server.

Some candidates who were scheduled to sit their examination at 9am were however, not pleased with the delay in the commencement of the examination as some of them were standing in the rain waiting to be called in to sit the examination.

Some of them that were already drenched in the rain said they came early to the centres so that they would not be late for their scheduled time.
